Klaymen !i/OHE/sPZ6 2008/08/09 (Sat) 20:04 No. 5388 [x] “So... what are we going to do about Suika’s horns? She’ll stick out like a sore thumb.”
[x] “How will we get back afterwards?”
[x] Go pack.
[x] "Thanks, Yukari."
The aura of assuredness is comforting, but you’re one for hard facts.
“So... what are we going to do about Suika’s horns?” You ask, motioning to the sleeping girl. “She’ll stick out like a sore thumb.”
“I was going to give her a sombrero.” Yukari says with a perfectly straight face. Then, she smiles. “But, I think I’ll just do this instead.”
She looks to the girl, staring intently at her. Yukari’s golden eyes seem to flash for a moment, and suddenly... the horns simply fall off, as if sheared at the base. They clatter to the floor noisily, causing Suika to stir.
“Mmm...” she reaches up and rubs her head. Upon reaching the part where her horn should be, she freezes. Her eyes open up slowly “Wha..."Hey!” She glares at Yukari. “Whaddya do?”
The horns drop into the floor, a new series of purple-tinted holes forming under them. Another opens near Yukari, dropping the ill-gotten horns into her hands.
“You should have paid attention earlier~” Yukari says, her singsong voice returning. “Remember when I said that humans notice horns easily? This is a stealth mission. I’m just giving you an advantage.”
“But...” she looks ready to protest, but Yukari cuts back in.
“You’ll get them back if you do a good job,” Yukari adds, tossing the horns into a newly formed hole, “along with a treat. Remember that special alcohol I bought back from the outside that one time?”
The little girl’s eyes light up, but you’re just confused. She’s a little too young to be drinking, isn’t she? “Oh, that ‘everclear’ stuff?” Suika asks, obviously excited. “But...” she pats the spot where her horns used to be, looking helpless. “You’re still mean.”
Well... you’re just wasting time. You’re sure she’ll get over it, so you decide to get your other question out of the way. “So, how are we getting back after the job’s done?” You ask, turning to Yukari.
“You ask a lot of questions, don’t you?” She says, grinning that grin. “I do have a plan, you know. I’ll be able to sense when you’ve taken care of the problem. After it’s safe to do so, I’ll simply bring you back.” She gives you a long, hard stare. “Is that it?”
“Yes.” You’re satisfied with her answers, so you turn to Nitori. “Should we go pack, then?”
She looks a little nervous. “Yeah... the outside world, huh?”
“Hey, it’s not a bad place,” You add, trying to comfort her. “I’m sure you’ll love it.”
“Oh, before I forget...” It’s Yukari. You look back, and notice she’s holding two cards. “Here.”
You reach out and grab it. It... looks like a passport. You open it, and are greeted with your smiling face. It doesn’t have your name on it, but instead has someone else’s. You wonder. Is this a forgery..."
“You’ll need this to get on the plane.” She says, motioning to it. Then, she sighs. “And use the name on the passport. Ran’s quite good at this sort of thing. The people they originally belonged to are...” She cocks her head to the side, gaining a hint of malice to her smile, “Unavailable at the moment.”
“But... you’d have to change the photos in the passport database, along with all kinds of other things...”
“As I said,” She says, her grin not changing, “Ran’s quite good at this sort of thing. They’re completely valid.”
Ran sounds like some prodigy superhacker from the description she’s giving you, but you decide not to ask.
“Cool.” You start to levitate, “Well, we should go pack. I imagine airport security is going to be terrible.” Nitori follows you, not saying much. Takiko does as well. “Shall we meet near the stairs to the cave?”
“Sure,” Yukari says, that look of deep thought returning to her face. “Be quick about it.”
“Oh, and Yukari?” You decide to add before leaving. “Thanks. You’re going through a lot of trouble to help the guy who caused this mess.”
“I’m not doing this to help you, you know.” She says, not returning from that distant state. “I’m doing it to help Gensokyo. Reimu seemed set on having you guide Suika, and I saw no problem with it.”
Her expression grows even more distant, as if she’s paying more attention to something far away. You take this as you’re cue to leave, but... Suika looks quite disheartened. She’s taken a seat on the ground and is looking at you sadly.
[ ] Invite her to help you pack.
[ ] Try to comfort her, and then leave.
[ ] Just leave.
