>>10301 I certainly hope that won't be the case.
[x] No.

"Mmm? not really," you said, still playing with the piece in your hand. "I mean, I guess I am a little curious at times, but I don't really dwell that much on it. I can't remember anything about my past, and even if I could, it's not like I can go back to it."
?" That's what I'm worried about, though," Miss Momizi sighed, frowning. "Are you really okay..."I mean, about living as one of us? We never really gave you a choice back then, and I just keep thinking? "Is it right to deny a human a normal life with his peers?" And, and we don't really know anything about how and why you ended up here, so?"
"Oh, is that what you were so worried about, Miss Momizi?" You asked, and Miss Momizi nodded solemnly.
"Then you don't have to worry about that," you said, smiling. "it's true that I sometimes think about what my past was, but you can't keep looking back at something that isn't there. I have the present in front of me, after all. I'm not worried about what was or what could have been. I'm just grateful that I was given this chance to live, when I couldn't even speak properly as far as I can remember. Right now, I have a lot of wonderful things for me to enjoy in my life. I want to cherish them."
As you spoke, you placed your shogi piece on the board on a whim, as your lips parted to continue your words.
"And? I want to spend my time having fun with the people that I love." Feeling a little embarrassed, you gave Miss Momizi a bright, sheepish smile while rubbing the back of your head. "Just like I am right now."
?" Yes, that's enough, isn't it?" She smiled, reaching her hand out and placing it on your head. "I'm really glad to hear that." She messed with your hair a little before returning to her normal posture. "By the way? Check, and mate," she said, moving one of her pieces.
?" Eh? Ehhhh?! Really?!" you groaned, studying the board. Ack, she was right: your King really had no way out of getting slaughtered.
"Better luck next time, Mikio," she giggled.

? Yes. If you're happy with the way things were, then that's all that mattered, right? There was nothing wrong with living for the sake of being alive, when each day was filled with fun and discovering new things. No matter how important the memories of the past were, you wouldn't trade the life you were living for anything.
You reflected as you peacefully drifted off into slumber in your bed at the sleeping quarters?
?"
You were outside again, alone in the darkness of the night. Above you, the full moon's smiling face was covered by clouds that hung on the sky in front of it, blocking the light of the moon. For a while, you did nothing but simply watch the moon, drinking in the air of the night.
Rustle, rustle.
Someone was here. You looked around the area for the source of the disturbance, darting your eyes here and there. However, you could only see trees, still retaining their green luster.
"Yo, I'm over here," you heard a familiar voice. You turned toward the voice. It was that long haired man again, walking out from a group of trees you were sure you had scanned thoroughly. You killed him the last time you met him. But he's still here. Somehow, that fact doesn't really surprise you. "Why doesn't it surprise me?" you wondered.
You still couldn't see his face, but you somehow knew his was smiling at you. Not a happy or friendly smile, but not an arrogant smirk or a malicious sneer. Just an empty, fake smile.
"We meet again," he said, raising a hand to greet you. You remained silent as he continued to approach you. "Maybe it was fate?" he said, laughing. "Just kidding. I knew we would meet again, though I can't say the shit you pulled off last time we talked was very pleasant." Still laughing, the man brought a hand up to his neck, shifting his head around as the sound of bones popping echoed into the air.
?" What do you want?" you asked coldly.
"Straight to the point, huh?" he sighed, scratching his head. "I came to ask you a single question, actually."
"Then ask."
?" Heh. You don't care about the past, huh?"
?" What?"
"Hahaha? You want to spend your time having fun with the people you love?" he shook his head. "That's a carefree attitude you got there."
"So what?"
"Then again, I guess it's convenient for you, isn't it?" he continued, lifting up both arms towards the sky, as he gazed up at the moon. "Since you don't remember anything, you're not burdened by anything. Some people are haunted by the past.
You get to walk around without guilt. And even better, you're
happy, aren't you? You're a lucky one."
"What are you talking about?"
"That's right. A person is defined by their memories, aren't they? And you. You've lost your past."
"Where are you going with this?"
"And here's my question for the day," he suddenly whirled around, pointing a finger at you. "So then, you who lost your memories: is it because you are a new existence that you've gained new memories? or is it because you've gained new memories that you are defined a new existence?"
? What is this guy babbling about?"
[] Choose.
