Well, the various LAs are posted where they're supposed to be centered around.

If the story's mostly centered on Alice, Marisa, Wriggle, Mystia, etc., then it belongs in /forest/, since they're the Forest of Magic dwellers.
/eientei/ and /sdm/ are likewise obvious. /sdm/ would technically be where you'd find Cirno, but for some reason there hasn't been much heard from her there.
/border/ would be for the Hakugyokuro, Higan, and Mayohiga crews.
/shrine/ is obvious.
/youkai/ is Youkai Mountain, Moriya Shrine, etc.
/others/ is for those that don't fit in the others, such as the outside world or the human village.
/th/ is where you'd post it if there's not a specific area-centric nature to the story.

Seeing as the examples given, I'd say this fits more in /border/ where the tree and Mayohiga is than in forest. But whatever floats your boat I guess, boards are somewhat slow lately, so a new one's fine wherever it starts in.

For a moment there is nothing but silence and darkness. You try and open your eyes but notice that you cannot or simply cannot tell if they are open or not. Your body aches all over. All the fighting, the blood, the chaos has turned into silence. Is this death? Wait, you can’t be dead. There’s no way in hell someone or something could ever kill you.

Your eyes snap open. The darkness is gone and now replaced with a canopy of trees obstructing the soft blue sky and white cotton clouds. Listening to your surroundings you hear the wind pass though the tress giving way to the music of leafs rustling. It reminds you of rain. It also reminds you that this isn’t the gore torn landscape where you had just been dismembering fiends.

Slowly you get up on your behind and take in your surroundings. Trees, tiny shrubs, and other odd plants seem to go on for miles. It isn’t a very dense forest but you have no idea how long it could go on for. The idea of hiking pisses you off. What a pain this will be.

Suddenly the strap on your chin loosens letting your Kevlar helmet falls off your head and tumbles a few feet away before spinning to a stop. “God damnit.” You mutter as you reluctantly turn over to get it. Body still aching from battle you reach over.

The helmet has fallen next to a small poll of water, you guess probably from a morning rain. For some reason you can’t help but to look at yourself in the reflection.

Patting yourself down it only cements the fact that you are indeed not a guy anymore. Even through the thick Kevlar vest you can feel something that you didn’t have before and something that has magically disappeared in your boxers. Pulling back your vest to make sure that indeed you haven’t simple lost your mind you see something pinned to your chest.

Remaining calm has never been something you find easy but you do the best that you can. Getting angry was one thing but becoming unhinged anymore will cause you to lose focus which might end up getting you killed. Where ever this place Gensokyo is it isn’t somewhere that you have heard of and could likely hold with it dangers. In the letter it spoke of yokai or whatever the hell they were so you are sure there might be something lurking around. "Goddammit, Yukari! When I find you I‘ll make sure you die."

Reaching around to your back you take hold you’re your backpack but notice that besides the 12 gauge 1100 Tactical Shotgun that is all that is your on your back. You are missing a few key weapons. Quickly you open up the backpack to see if there was anything missing from there too.

The contents of the bag include a brick of C4 and a detonating charge, two high fragmentation grenades, a handful of shotgun rounds, two magazines for a assault rifle that is missing, and a box of .50 caliber full metal jacket rounds for your handgun. No food, no water, no clothing. Nothing in there that would actually help you.

You let out a heart filled sigh as you throw the backpack over you shoulder and decide to walk down the path. You try and think of what to do when you reach the end of the path but your mind in winding. What’s going on, why where you brought here, where were you friends.

You stop, right your friends they were with you too. Did they get away or where they too brought to this place. “I wonder if they’re chicks too? I better not be the only prick who rolled snake eyes on this!” Simple as it may be you hope that they too are suffering from the same fate. Against better judgment you decide to get a little bit closer and investigate. No sense in just you walking past with a blind eye to the world. Besides if you don’t go and see it you soon know you’ll be regretting it later that you didn’t fulfill your curiosities needs.

You see two creatures fighting. The larger one is some sort of beast, none that you have seen, with a narrow set head and a gangly body. Each of its fingers are like long blades. It topples over the little girl in everyway--or little boy you’re not really sure which but you think it is a girl.

Either way she is an odd looking kid. For one the kid has a cape on which is strange right away and doesn’t help the fact that she has twigs in her hair, probably from being thrown around the dirt forest floor. You don’t really do anything at first because despite it all she seems to be handling herself pretty well for what it’s worth.

Still, the monster seems to have a upper had as it back hands the little kid into a near by tree. You feel like you should be doing something

You can’t help but grin feeling as though you have the upper hand but soon find that they are not as intimidated as you had hoped. Wriggle seems much more then amused by your words than anything, while Mystia gives nothing more then a dull expression that you are about as much threat to her as a mosquito.

“So what’s it gunna be?” You say with a twisted expression and a laugh, “Because I have to say I’m just a wee bit trigger happy right now and when that happens well, let‘s just say that dead bodies have a habit of turning up around me. I blame the violent society.”

Without warning Mystia jumps the counter and knees you in your face sending you flying from your seat. Your body smashes into a near by tree causing your grip on your pistol to loosen and fall from your hand. For a moment all you can see are stars and darkness, as the world blurs for a moment. By the time you realize what has happened her hand is wrapped tightly around your neck, pinning you to the tree.

She looks back at you with a raised claw, ready to lop off your head at any moment. The only one to blame is yourself for not considering that she too could also be powerful. Bad timing as it may be, you can’t help but gaze at her. She has a type of prestige that can make here mere presence a goddess or a devil.

“Well, that’s an easy one.” you say with a light smile as your hand travels up her arm, cupping her face, “An angel wouldn’t kill.”

Mystia’s stunned expression gives you enough time to kick her feet out from under her, but not before catching her. You look at her for a moment and can’t wonder to think that this cute girl was only but a moment ago going to kill you and is now in your arms at a loss of what to do. Lowering your face to hers you kiss her gently.

She’s warm and soft, everything you’d imagine a kiss would be, with the exception that she isn’t kissing back. Pulling back you notice that any resolve she once had to kill you has been replaced with a deep crimson blush. Your little plan worked. Making a potentially deadly situation extremely awkward for the aggressor was a surefire way to get out of any circumstances and destroy any real reasoning for killing you. If she had been serious you would have been dead already.

Your cheeks are burning and no amount of rubbing is making them feel any better. Mystia slapped you hard, almost too hard for such a little kiss but you can’t help but think you kind have deserved it. Slowly you walk back and sit down at the counter. Out of the corner of your eye you can see Wriggle red faced and angry, probably embarrassed for her friend you guess.

It was nice that finally you were getting some information but Mystia ‘s explanation was fast and fairly brief. Obviously you weren’t anywhere remotely near your own home but you had long knew that when bug girls, witches, and girls with wings started to show up. When you attempted to ask her of something more specific like how to get home or who Yukari was, she would turn around and yell “Shut up!”

It wasn’t long after the explanation that a unsettling silence fell among the three of you. The air seemed dead and the mood had long since expired making even you feel uncomfortable. Nothing you said was going to change the fact that you kissed Mystia, which has been on your mind far longer then it ever should have.

Suddenly Wriggle got up, “I’m going home.” she said stubbornly but not before throwing you a dark glance, “I’ll see you later Mystia.”

Without so much as a goodbye, Wriggle flies off in a rush leaving Mystia and you in awkward silence. Your mind begins to wander back to the kiss and now even you begin to feel embarrassed. Mystia finally turns to you but only to lay out a plate of grilled lamprey for you to eat. She’s beautiful and holds a certain amount of elegance as she walks, like she‘ll fly away if startled. Her ears look soft and you wonder would it would be like to touch them. Catching yourself staring you turn away to avoid making the mood any more awkward. Nibbling quietly you break the silence.

“Hey, sorry about earlier.” you start off slowly, “After everything that has happened to me today well, I’ve just been on edge for everything that has happened. The thought of nice hot bath makes you want to melt in your seat but sometimes a cool bath can feel far more refreshing. It feels like a coin toss and you think maybe Mystia could join you and decide to pick. Even you have to admit you are probably smelling pretty rank right now. Clad in military fatigues, Kevlar helmet, and a Kevlar vest it was for protection not for you to be smelling like a fresh daisy.

After the horrible day you’ve had, nothing could feel better on your aches and pains then a nice, relaxing, hot bath. Though you were never one to ask for company, without your friends around it begins to feel very lonely. You think that maybe Mystia would like to join you in a bath. After all, you’re both women.

“Hey Mystia, “ you start slowly, “You wanna go with me to the hot spring.” she looks at you surprised, “Ah, well, because I don’t know where the hell it’s at and I can’t fly.”

You blow it off, no point in ruining a nice bath over something stupid. A few moments later she comes out holding a small wooden wash bucket with two towels, a wash rag, and some other things you don’t recognize but perceive as some type of soap.

“Hold this tight.” Mystia says, thrusting the wash bucet into your arms.

“Why do I-IAHHHHH.” suddenly her arms wrap around your waist and the two of you fly high into the air, “Oh my god, oh my god! We’re so high up in the air. “ Mystia’s grip on you begins to loosen, “Don’t you dare drop me! DON’T DROP ME! Stop being such a jackass damn-it!” you yell angrily.

“Aw, but surely a demon such as you could survive a fall from six hundred feet.” she says as her grip tightens.

Her warm breath on the back of your neck makes you blush, “Shut up, even a fall from this height would hurt like a bitch and a half.”

With a final flap of her wings the two of you land in a patch of ground that looked as her it were smoking. It was mist nonetheless, but the motoring looked like something out of a five star hotel rather then being made by nature. Large, smoothing rocks dotted the area around the milky water, which was so calm and unmoving made it look as if it where a solid sheet of frosted glass. Small pillars of steam danced around the water so gracefully that one would think the steam was performing a ballet for the two of you.

“Hey Kai, could you turn around?” Asks Mystia, your gaze breaks from the pristine motoring, “I wouldn’t want you peeking at me because I’ll kill you if you do.” she says almost sickly sweet.

“Oh yeah, sure.” You decide to do the same and change--more so out of curiosity about what your new body looks like.

Thankfully Mystia doesn’t notice you staring and simply keeps washing herself, but you soon start to think that maybe she’s just teasing you. Maybe she does know your watching and is waiting for you to say something. The idea is farfetched but being someone who’s so inept with women you don’t really know for sure.

Guns work on the smaller ones but it pains me to say that swords have to be used on the bigger ones because bullets just bounce off‘em. The bigger ones also have this annoying ability to talk so lobbing off their heads with a sword is very relaxing!“ you begin to wash her back more as you recall your worlds history.

“A demon, such as I, has super-human strength, speed and all that crap that allows us to just tear off their heads. My friends can control elements, but that’s another story if we ever meet them again. My world’s been battling these assholes for hundreds of years with neither side gaining any ground up until the last hundred years, so it‘s calmed down greatly, but they’re not all gone. Now it’s more like a sport and a lot of gangs have formed to kill these fiends for recognition and cash. The military doesn’t like it but they’re full of fucking humans who can’t do dick anyways. Mystia nods, “Sounds like a world no more dangerous than Gensokyo. So, are you part of these so called gangs that attempt to earn fame and fortune?” she says slyly.

You can’t help but grin widely, “Damn straight, my friends and I are one of the top gangs on the east coast!” you say excitedly, “When you can kill fiends like we can even the government wants you to work for them and they’re always willing to look the other way for our services.”

Mystia squeals loudly as she rises from the water on the tips of her toes, “Stop touching my wings!” her whining is so adorable you want nothing more then to squeeze her. You’ll most likely find your weapons there and maybe some information. You can head there tomorrow.”

You can‘t pay attention as you keep staring at all the bedding she keeps pulling out from cupboards you thought had food in them, “Hey uh, you don’t sleep here do you?”

“Of coarse I do. I would not just leave this stand unprotected. Who knows what pesky yokai would come looking for a free meal without someone here at night.” she tosses a pillow and a itchy blanket towards you, “You can sleep on the counter.”

Your eyebrow twitches. You find that she getting to sleep in a nice, comfy futon and you sleeping on the hard counter where people fucking eat something to be pissed off about. Apparently you can ’sleep’ with her but you can’t sleep with her. To think that you had sex only moments ago make you wonder did that all really happen or was the hot spring water leaking into your head.

Either way you don’t say another word and simply sleep on the counter. You’ve put up with worse sleeping conditions. It doesn’t take long before you fall asleep soundly, your mind entering another world from the one your body as been transported to.
